Pre-Trip Arrangements

Among the many items on our to-do list for our preparation on any trip, much less a three week adventure like this, is arranging for our “flock” of animals. Many of you know our beagle, Roxy Beans, and our two high-maintenance felines, Stella and Jack. All three animals are incredibly spoiled (definitely Bill’s fault). Here are just a few of the daily pet-tending demands:

1.) Stella only drinks ice water and if she doesn’t have it, she will let you know in some sort of devious way (ie: knocking down a vase or jumping on your face);

2.) Roxy eats half her dinner in a regular bowl while the other half is thrown our into the backyard for her to “find it”; and

3.) In his old age, Jack has become generally malcontent unless you’re “aggressively cuddling” him.

Luckily, Bill’s parents are happy to have Roxy over at their house during our adventure. She’ll have a great time there, playing with their dogs, Joey and Ginger. But the cats are a different story. We have had to find several willing participants for a three-week juggling act of cat-tending duties (thanks, Andy, Sloan, and Claudia!)
